Greek mythology has an interesting explanation for the origin of onyx. Legend has it that while Venus was sleeping, the mischievous Cupid cut her fingernails and left them on the ground. The gods turned the cut nails to stone (onyx) because no part of a heavenly goddess would be allowed to perish. This particular pure copper pendant is yellow in color. This is a large and unique pendant, and the rustic copper setting was crafted with great care and skill. This large pendant – about 2.5 inches long – is a definite attention getter.
